At the western end of the main “action” area of Locke Street (at Hunter) in Hamilton sits a beautiful building bursting with inspiration from the European beer belt. With a fun look and an extensive selection of premium bottles of unique craft beers along rotating taps from local and international brewers, Brux House has an atmosphere that Liz and I found to be “our type of place.”
We spent a couple of hours there the other evening sampling from their dinner menu appetizer selections and a few different beers.
Among several tasty beers I had what I can say is my favourite beer from Block Three Brewing so far: Do You Want to Dance? It’s a simple and unassuming IPA that went down easy and with just the right balance of malt and hoppiness for me.

The atmosphere and staff and beer selection were great. The food that we sampled was quite yummy. And the patio seat that we had allowed us to do our coveted people-watching both “inside” and on the street as people passed by.
A fun evening, indeed.
But, hands down, our absolute favourite taste from Brux House was their amazing curry ketchup. Sure, the beer is good, but that specialty ketchup that comes with their Belgian style fries has its own unique appeal! YUM!
