How cool is this? Get your short story published on a beer label.

Refined Fool Brewing in Sarnia is hosting a short story contest to help celebrate fellow local independent business The Book Keeper.

They make great beers, and already have some great names. Of course, we haven’t yet had a chance to get to either of their two locations in person yet (Things to look forward to in 2020). Illiterate Librarians is among the favourite beers enjoyed from his brewery so far.

The Book Keeper, of course, is another legendary indie Canadian bookstore. And they are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.

That’s what the “Message on a Bottle” contest is about. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Book Keeper, Refined Fool Brewing Co has partnered with them to create a series of beer labels featuring short stories (300 words) sent in by writers. They’ll chose the best ones and stories have to be submitted by the end of Feb 2020.

Check out the details and online form for the contest here.

Books and Beer together! My idea of heaven!
